Therapist in Memorial, Houston, TX

In-person care for moms, just off I-10 in the heart of Memorial.

Angela Hill, LCSW sees clients at 8901 Gaylord, Suite 201, in Hedwig Village. It’s a few blocks south of I-10 and about five minutes from Memorial City. Live in Bunker Hill, Hunters Creek, Piney Point or Spring Valley? You can get here without crossing the city.

Her entire practice is maternal and perinatal mental health. Pregnancy, postpartum, loss, infertility and the strain a new baby puts on a relationship. That’s the whole caseload.

Finding the Memorial Office

The office is at 8901 Gaylord, Suite 201, Houston, TX 77024. Gaylord Dr runs parallel to the Katy Freeway feeder, just west of Bingle and east of Bunker Hill Rd.

Most clients come off I-10 or Gessner. Memorial City Mall, CITYCENTRE and the Echo Lane shops sit a few minutes away. An appointment fits into errands you were already running.

Therapy for Moms also keeps an office in Montrose at 4203 Montrose Blvd, Suite 310. If your week takes you inside the Loop, you can book there instead. Some clients hold sessions at whichever office matches their day.

Built Around How Memorial Moms Actually Move

Memorial runs on car time. School drop-off, a hospital appointment, a grocery run and pickup, all stitched together before 3 p.m. An office you can’t reach in that window may as well not exist.

This one sits inside the loop that most Memorial families already drive:

  • Close to Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center and Houston Methodist West, where many local moms deliver
  • Minutes from Spring Branch ISD campuses including Memorial Drive Elementary, Frostwood, Bunker Hill Elementary and Memorial High School
  • Near Memorial City Mall, CITYCENTRE and Town & Country for anyone combining a session with errands
  • A short drive from Terry Hershey Park, Hedwig Park and the Memorial Park trails
  • Easy access from I-10, Beltway 8, Gessner, Voss and Memorial Dr

What Moms in This Part of Houston Tend to Bring In

Memorial looks settled. Big lots, old pines, quiet streets and neighbors who seem to have it handled. That surface makes a hard postpartum year lonelier than it needs to be.

A few patterns show up again and again in this area.

A partner who’s rarely home. Plenty of Memorial households have someone working long hours in the Energy Corridor or traveling most weeks. One parent ends up running the newborn stretch alone, then feels guilty for resenting it.

No family within 1,000 miles. Houston pulls people in for work. Moms who relocated during pregnancy often have a beautiful house and nobody to hand the baby to at 4 p.m.

A calendar that never slows down. Older siblings have practices, tutoring and carpools. The postpartum recovery of the third baby gets squeezed into the gaps and then never happens.

The pressure to look fine. In a neighborhood where things appear polished, saying “I’m struggling” out loud can feel like a failure. In session it’s usually the most useful sentence a mom gets out all week.

Angela’s work starts from what’s actually happening in your week, not from a worksheet.

Who You’ll Work With

Angela Webster-Minard Hill, LCSW, earned her MSW at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work in 2017. She holds a certificate from Postpartum Support International and appears in the PSI provider directory. She’s also a Certified Educator for the Gottman Institute’s Bringing Baby Home program. That’s the research-based curriculum for couples in the first year after birth.

She’s licensed as a clinical social worker in Texas (License 64343) and Colorado (License 09931913).

Perinatal work is the reason the practice exists. Angela built her caseload around it and kept it there.

Questions Memorial Clients Ask

Do I have to come to the office? No. Angela sees clients by telehealth anywhere in Texas and Colorado. Some Memorial clients start in person and switch to video during the newborn months, then come back in.

Can I bring my baby? Yes. Babies are welcome at in-person sessions. We also offer virtual sessions for clients who find it easier to connect from home.

Flexibility is built into how this practice runs — because getting to a weekly appointment with a newborn is genuinely hard.

Which office should I pick? Pick the one that fits your commute. Memorial is easier if you’re west of the Loop or working near the Energy Corridor. Montrose is easier if you’re near the Museum District, Midtown or the Heights.

Do you take insurance? Yes, we accept select insurance plans through Headway.

The First Step Is Small

You don’t need a diagnosis or a plan to reach out. Most moms who call are simply tired of white-knuckling it and want to know whether therapy would actually help.

A free 15-minute call answers that. You’ll describe what’s going on, Angela will tell you honestly whether she’s the right therapist for it, and you’ll decide from there.
